Pharmacy Technician - Long Term Care

Certified Pharmacy Technician - LTC Pharmacy

  • Full Time - rotating weekend availability.
  • Opportunities available for floor techs, pre-packaging and order entry.

Position Summary:

CorsoCare Pharmacy is a growing business providing Pharmacy Services to residents in our Story Point, Independence Village and Leisure Living communities throughout Michigan. A Certified Pharmacy Technician will process and fill prescriptions in a closed door pharmacy for residents while working under the direction of a pharmacist. This position requires excellent customer service, high attention to detail and dependability in order to meet the needs of our residents.

Required Experience:

  • Pharmacy Tech Certification required
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent inventory control practices
  • Ability to remain organized in high volume production
  • Parata/TCGRx packaging experience desired, or willingness to learn
  • Blister packing and heat sealer experience preferred
  • High attention to detail and safety best practices
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Computer skills including prescription processing software

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Select the appropriate medicine and measure dosages to fill prescriptions
  • Sort, stock, label medication and monitor inventory
  • Undertake record-keeping as assigned
  • Comply with all security measures and quality standards
  • Search and pull expired medication for shelves and ensure processed appropriately to maintain accurate inventory
  • Work effectively as part of larger team

Professional Requirements:

  • Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean. Completes annual educational requirements.
  • Maintains regulatory requirements, including all federal, state, local regulations, and accrediting organization standards.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and always safeguards all patient related information.
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time.
  • Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
  • Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
